Barça squad named for Levante
Ernesto Valverde has called up 22 players for Saturday’s title decider
The next Barcelona match is upon us! The Blaugrana welcome Levante to Camp Nou for the game that could clinch the La Liga title against Levante, and Ernesto Valverde has called up 22 players for Saturday’s matchup:
Goalkeepers: 1. Marc-André ter Stegen, 13. Jasper Cillessen
Defenders: 2. Nélson Semedo, 3. Gerard Piqué, 6. Jean-Clair Todibo, 15. Clément Lenglet, 17. Jeison Murillo, 18. Jordi Alba, 23. Samuel Umtiti, 24. Thomas Vermaelen
Midfielders: 4. Ivan Rakitic, 5. Sergio Busquets, 7. Philippe Coutinho, 8. Arthur, 20. Sergi Roberto, 21. Carles Aleñá, 22. Arturo Vidal
Forwards: 9. Luis Suárez, 10. Lionel Messi, 11. Ousmane Dembélé, 14. Malcom, 19. Kevin-Prince Boateng
It is interesting that Valverde has picked all of his available players for the game since only 18 can be uniform. There might be a reason for that: if Atlético Madrid lose to Valencia, Barça will be champions without playing, and if that scenario happens Valverde will be free to rest four key players for the Liverpool game without any repercussions for this match. We’ll really have to wait for the team news to find out who’s in and out of the final eighteen, but we already know Rafinha will be missing out due to injury.
Predicted starting XI (4-3-3):
Ter Stegen; Semedo, Murillo, Umtiti, Alba; Vidal, Rakitic, Arthur; Malcom, Messi, Dembélé
The match kicks off at 8.45pm CET (Barcelona), 7.45pm BST/WAT (UK & Nigeria), 2.45pm ET, 11.45am PT (USA), 12.15am IST (India, Sunday), and you can join us to follow and comment all the action.
