Busquets apologises to fans for Liverpool defeat
The midfielder offered an apology
Sergio Busquets apologised to supporters after Barcelona’s disastrous Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool.
The Catalan giants were 3-0 up from the first leg but were beaten 4-0 at Anfield by the Reds, who progress to a final against either Tottenham or Ajax.
It’s the second year in a row that Barcelona have thrown away a three-goal lead in the Champions League, and Busquets spoke about the defeat after the match.
“I apologise. After what happened in Rome, this happened again,” he said.
”It’s tough to go out like this after the first-leg result. Liverpool have been smarter than us, they were faster.
”I think we had chances to score the goal we needed, but it wasn’t meant to be today.”

It’s another embarrassing defeat for Barcelona in Europe and will put pressure on manager Ernesto Valverde despite his success in La Liga.
