Van der Sar says De Ligt will move to England or Spain
Barcelona and Liverpool have both been linked
Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt will leave the Eredivisie club this summer and move to either England or Spain, according to chief executive officer Edwin van der Sar.
The 19-year-old has been linked with most of Europe’s top sides this season, but the latest rumors suggest he will choose between Barcelona and Liverpool.
Van der Sar seemed to back up the speculation when talking about the centre-back just before Ajax’s Champions League second leg against Tottenham.
“I think these will be De Ligt’s final games with Ajax, but I hope he goes out on a high.
”He’s been here since he was a child and will end up at a big club. I think he’ll go to England or Spain.”

De Ligt was on target again for Ajax on Wednesday but could not prevent the Dutch side from slipping out of the tournament on away goals.
The teenager has previously said he would wait until the end of the season before making his mind, with Barca believed to be hopeful he will follow team-mate Frenkie de Jong to the Camp Nou.
