Barca have not been in touch about Griezmann - Cerezo

The president doesn’t know where the Frenchman will do

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo says Barcelona have not been in touch with regards Antoine Griezmann and he does not know where the French forward will be playing his football next season.

Griezmann has already announced he will leave the club in the summer and rumors persist that he will make the switch to Barcelona when his release clause drops to €120m at the start of July.

Cerezo says he has not got a clue where Griezmann will end up but praised the France international for his efforts with Atletico.

“Griezmann has been with for five years and done a splendid job. We have a good relationship. Nice, trustworthy.

“I hope wherever he goes he will be treated the same as he has been with us. I don’t know where he’s going, he didn’t say.

“I don’t have the slightest idea where he will go. I don’t think anyone knows. No one from Barca has contacted me.”

There had been reports recently that Griezmann agreed a deal with Barcelona in November, and Atletico were planning action for “poaching” the forward.

Cerezo’s comments suggest that is not the case, although it’s still not certain if Barcelona will move for Griezmann during the transfer window.
