Barcelona announce record revenue but profits are down
The club brought in €990 million last season
Barcelona have announced their financial results for the 2018-19 season and have recorded record revenue of €990 million ($1.1 billion).
While income is up so are the club’s expenses. The Spanish champions have revealed a pre-tax operating profit of €17m ($19m) which is down from last season’s €20m ($22m).
Here’s what the club have had to say about the results:
“The club has achieved its highest revenue ever and it’s important to highlight that the income is €30m more than the budgeted figure of €960m,” said a club statement.
”It is in line with the club’s strategic plan to generate an annual turnover of €1,000m by 2021.”
