Barcelona kick off La Liga season at Athletic, Clasico dates confirmed

The new season’s fixtures are out

Barcelona will begin the defence of their league title on the weekend of August 17 away at Athletic Bilbao.

The fixtures for the new season were released on Thursday, and there are plenty of key dates for your diary.

Here’s a look at the opening round of La Liga fixtures:

The first Clasico of the season will be at the Camp Nou on the 27th October, with the return at the Santiago Bernabeu set for the 1st March.

Meanwhile, Barca will play Espanyol in the Catalan derby on the 5th January and then again on the 10th May.

Ernesto Valverde’s sides will finish their campaign away at Alaves at the end of May 2019.
