FC Barcelona’s opening game of the 2019-20 La Liga season, at Athletic Bilabo, has been rescheduled for August 17. The game at San Mames was originally set for the evening of August 16, as the curtain raiser for the new season, however that was criticised as it would mean playing on a Friday night.

Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu confirmed to ESPN on Friday that the entire team will travel to the United States, including players who were not in Japan due to Copa América duty earlier this summer.
