Neymar out of PSG league opener, negotiations ‘advanced’
It seems like the soap opera is close to an end
It seems (again, IT SEEMS) like the end of the Neymar soap opera is near. The Brazilian is set to miss Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 opener, Sunday against Nimes.
According to PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, it’s stricly a physical issue:
“My job is to be the manager. He’s in an individual phase of training, in and out of sessions with the group. He’s still a little injured. He took a knock [Saturday] and hasn’t completed a week of training yet.”
But PSG sporting director Leonard has given us the real reason: negotiations for Neymar’s departure are finally moving to a possible conclusion.
“The conversations are more advanced than before, but there is no agreement yet. We’ll see what happens. We all need definition.”

Leonardo doesn’t mention the club involved in those conversations, but we all know Barcelona want to sign him and Real Madrid may or may have not joined the race. Catalan radio rac1 says Barça “are ahead” in the negotiations, and they’re working hard on the deal even though all major figures involved in the transfer are in the United States and unable to meet with PSG officials at the moment.
Whatever happens, this just needs to end soon. Please.
