Barcelona wanted Neymar, PSG didn’t want to sell - Grau
Oscar Grau spoke about the club’s pursuit of the Brazilian
Barcelona chief executive officer Oscar Grau reckons the club tried everything they could to sign Neymar in the summer but believes PSG didn’t want to sell.
The Spanish champions were linked with all sorts of cash plus player offers for the Brazilian but could not secure a deal and Neymar will stay at PSG least until January.
Grau said Barca would have been happy to have Neymar back and did have the finances in place to pull off the transfer.
“We did everything possible to sign him. We always tried in a viable way because we would have been delighted for him to come.
”If the parameters we set were met, it was sustainable. We offered alternatives to PSG, who rejected them. They didn’t want to do the deal.”

Neymar has since come out and said he “made it clear” to PSG he wanted to leave, while captain Lionel Messi has admitted he would have “loved” to have his forme team-mate back.
There have already been rumors that Barca will return for the Brazilian in 2020, either when the window reopens in January or next summer.
