Barça squad named for Sevilla
Ernesto Valverde has called up 19 players for Sunday’s match
The next Barcelona match is upon us! The Blaugrana return to action in La Liga with a huge game against Sevilla at Camp Nou, and Ernesto Valverde has called up the following 19 players* for Sunday:
Goalkeepers: 1. Marc-André ter Stegen, 13. Neto
Defenders: 2. Nélson Semedo, 3. Gerard Piqué, 6. Jean-Clair Todibo, 18. Jordi Alba, 33. Ronald Araujo
Midfielders: 4. Ivan Rakitic, 5. Sergio Busquets, 8. Arthur, 20. Sergi Roberto, 21. Frenkie De Jong, 22. Arturo Vidal
Forwards: 9. Luis Suárez, 10. Lionel Messi, 11. Ousmane Dembélé, 17. Antoine Griezmann, 27. Carles Pérez, 31. Ansu Fati
*Only 18 players can be in uniform, so one of them will be cut from the final matchday squad. The favorite: Carles Pérez
There’s some very good news for this one with the return of Jordi Alba and Ansu Fati from their injuries, which is a big boost on both ends of the squad. Lenglet is suspended for his red card last week, so Barça B’s Ronald Araujo is called up to be the third center-back for this one. The other absentees are Samuel Umtiti (foot), Junior Firpo (hamstring), Carles Aleñá (technical decision) and Moussa Wagué (technical decision).
Predicted starting XI (4-3-3):
Ter Stegen; Semedo, Piqué, Todibo, Alba; Vidal, De Jong, Arthur; Messi, Suárez, Griezmann
The match kicks off at 9pm CET (Barcelona), 8pm BST/WAT (UK & Nigeria), 3pm ET, 12pm PT (USA), 12.30am IST (India, Monday), and you can join us to follow and comment all the action.
