A check on how the club’s stars are doing with their national teams

Another round of international fixtures over the weekend has seen more Barcelona stars in action for their national teams.

Antoine Griezmann and Clement Lenglet were up first for France in a narrow 1-0 win over Iceland that takes them a step closer to qualification for Euro 2020.

Both Barca stars played the full 90 minutes in Reykjavik, and perhaps most importantly neither picked up an injury in a hard-fought game for the French.

The only goal of the game came from the penalty spot from Olivier Giroud. Griezmann won the spot-kick after going to ground very theatrically when Olafur Ingi Skulason stuck out a leg.

It is an important win for France and sets them up nicely for Monday’s top of the table clash against Turkey in Paris.

Nelson Semedo was also in action on Friday in Portugal’s 3-0 Euro 2020 qualifier victory over Luxembourg.

The reigning European champions cruised to victory thanks to goals from Bernardo Silva, Cristiano Ronaldo and Goncalo Guedes.

Semedo set up the first goal for Bernardo with a great run down the right, as Portugal stay second in Group B, five points behind Ukraine but with a game in hand.

Saturday saw Arturo Vidal feature for Chile in their friendly against Colombia in Alicante. The Barca midfielder had a decent game for Reinaldo Rueda’s side in the goalless draw and played pretty much the whole game, going off in stoppage time for Esteban Pavez.

Saturday also saw Sergio Busquets in action for Spain, the midfielder is the only Barca player in the squad and started the Euro 2020 qualifier against Norway alongside Saul Niguez and Fabian Ruiz.

The hosts had the better of the chances in a goalless first half and certainly gave Robert Moreno’s side a few scares.

Saul fired Spain in front in front early in the second half with an effort from distance, but Norway grabbed a deserved point in stoppage time with a penalty from King.
