The Argentine star shouted out two of his former Barcelona coaches

Lionel Messi heaped praise on Pep Guardiola, but gave Luis Enrique an honorable mention, when asked who he considered the best manager to ever coach him.

The revelation comes from an interview conducted by RAC1 with Messi. They asked him point-blank who the best manager he ever had was.

“I think Guardiola,” the #10 answered, “Guardiola is the best in everything, and Luis Enrique very close behind.”

Guardiola and Luis Enrique are the only two Barcelona managers to have won either the FIFA World Coach of the Year or The Best FIFA Football Coach award.

They are also the only two managers in La Liga history to have won the treble, both while managing Messi, of course.

In his illustrious career, Messi has been managed at Barcelona by Frank Rijkaard, Tito Vilanova, Tata Martino, and Ernesto Valverde, aside from Guardiola and Luis Enrique. For Argentina, he has been managed by José Pékerman, Alfio Basile, Diego Maradona, Sergio Batista, Alejandro Sabella, Martino again, Edgardo Bauza, Jorge Sampaoli, and Lionel Scaloni.
