It’s Champions League time at the Camp Nou

Barcelona are back in Champions League action on Wednesday when Borussia Dortmund visit the Camp Nou in the penultimate group fixture.

Ernesto Valverde’s side top Group F by one point from Dortmund and can seal qualification with a game to spare against the Bundesliga side.

The two teams played out a 0-0 draw back in September, and this game promises to be another tough affair with Barca needing a big improvement from Saturday’s performance against Leganes.

Let’s see who might start the match against Lucien Favre’s side:

Defence

Marc-Andre ter Stegen was Barca’s star man the last time the two sides met and will take up his usual place between the sticks.

Ahead of them there will be changes though. Gerard Pique is suspended and will sit this one which should mean Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet in central defence.

At full-back Barcelona are still without injured duo Nelson Semedo and Jordi Alba. Sergio Roberto could replace Moussa Wague but Junior Firpo should continue at left-back.

Midfield

Into midfield and Arturo Vidal is pushing for a start after coming off the bench to rescue Barcelona again at the weekend.

The Chile international could come in for Sergio Busquets, while Arthur should return to the starting XI after missing out altogether against Leganes.

Elsewhere, Frenkie de Jong should complete the midfield three.

Attack

Ernesto Valverde started Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez against Leganes but it’s unlikely he will do the same against Dortmund.

Dembele will be hoping to start in attack as he takes on his former club and may just get the nod over Griezmann.

Messi will make his 700th appearance for Barcelona on Wednesday night, while Luis Suarez should also be in from the start.

Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Roberto, Umtiti, Lenglet, Firpo; De Jong, Vidal, Arthur; Messi, Suarez, Dembele.
