It’s just a matter of time apparently

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez wants to play in Major League Soccer, according to Uruguay team-mate Nico Lodeiro.

The Seattle Sounders midfielder reckons the pair often talk about the league and is hopeful he could join him in the United States some time in the future.

“I think you need to convince Barcelona. He wants to come to MLS,” he said.

“He is always asking me about the league. His dream was to play for Barcelona. He’s playing at a great level and he feels comfortable there.

“Sooner or later he’ll come to MLS. Well, hopefully. He likes the league. He’s always asking me things about it. Hopefully he can also play for Seattle Sounders. It may be a more difficult task. I think it’s only a matter of time before he’s out here.”

Suarez’s Barcelona contract expires in 2021 and he said last year he would love to retire at the Camp Nou but knew that it “will be difficult as very few have achieved it before.”
