Barca meeting with Xavi about managerial role - report

Barcelona officials are reportedly meeting with Xavi this week to discuss becoming the manager of the club. The report comes on the heels of another disappointing Barcelona loss. This time, losing to Atletico Madrid highlighted by a lackluster defensive effort.

The conventional discussion around Xavi has always been that he would eventually become the manager of Barcelona. However, Xavi taking over this Barcelona team in particular in the middle of the season would seem strange.

One could assume this is a meeting about efforts to make Xavi the long-term future manager of the club. Perhaps even taking over in the offseason once the Valverde train has run its course.
