Alba: They throw sh*t at us from the outside, we shouldn’t sling it at at ourselves

The defender has given his thoughts on a tough week

After Barcelona’s 1-0 Copa del Rey loss to Athletic Club, Jordi Alba made it clear how he felt about the club drama that engulfed them this week. The full-back said that despite the difficulties that the outside might present, they needn’t be making things worse on themselves.

“Everyone has their own opinion,” he said. ”We’re the players and the coaching staff who are facing up to it.

“They throw enough sh*t at us from the outside, so we shouldn’t be throwing sh*t at ourselves. It’s proved that we’ve been a team.”

Alba is certainly right. Creating your own drama as a club is unnecessary and beneath a club with the breadth of leadership that Barcelona have. We’ll just have to see how they react to the tension surrounding the club.
