Barca are a ‘club of clowns’ and have ‘no class’ - Dugarry
‘At every transfer window there is a problem’
Barcelona are a “club of clowns” who have “no class,” according to former striker and World Cup winner Christophe Dugarry.
The Catalan giants have been in the headlines this week after a clash of words between sporting director Eric Abidal and Lionel Messi.
The club have also lost Ousmane Dembele to long-term injury and been knocked out of the Copa del Rey, leading to fierce criticism from Dugarry.
“It’s a club of clowns. Everything is done backwards. They buy [Philippe] Coutinho, Dembele, they buy guys and then sell them. You get the impression there is no project in this club.
”At every transfer window there is a problem. They’ve recruited very badly since the departures of Xavi and [Andres] Iniesta. They’ve spent loads.
”And above all they have a very bad image. There are far too many people who do not have the elegance, the class that there should be at a club of this standing. It’s really a club that has no class.”

Barcelona’s January transfer activity has also come under scrutiny. They club failed to bring in an attacking replacement after losing Luis Suarez to long-term injury and have left themselves short by allowing youngsters Carles Alena, Jean-Clair Todibo, Carles Perez, Moussa Wague and Abel Ruiz to depart.
