How will Barcelona line up against Real Betis?
The champions are back in action on Sunday
Barcelona face their second away match of the week on Sunday when they take on Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin in La Liga.
The champions beat Betis 5-2 at the Camp Nou in August but head into the back of the match after a 1-0 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey.
Sunday’s game sees Quique Setien come up against his former side who have managed just one La Liga win so far in 2020.
Here’s a look at how they might line up:
Defence
Barcelona are without Gerard Pique on Sunday due to suspension which means Samuel Umtiti is likely to partner Clement Lenglet at centre-back.
Nelson Semedo is enjoying some good form at right-back and should continue, while Junior Firpo could face his former team if Setien decides Jordi Alba needs a rest.
Midfield
Arthur will be hoping for a start after some decent performances off the bench and could replace Ivan Rakitic in the starting XI.
There’s a bit of doubt about Arturo Vidal’s fitness currently. AS have reported he’s having knee trouble which means he might have to sit this one out as well.
Attack
Barcelona’s lack of attacking options means it’s likely to be Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Ansu Fati in attack once again on Sunday.
Setien does appear to be trying to keep his forwards as fresh as possible. Griezmann started on the bench against Betis, while Ansu Fati was replaced early on Thursday.
Messi played all 90 minutes but failed to find the target, although he’ll fancy his chances against Betis. Only Mallorca and Espanyol have conceded more goals than Rubi’s men in the Spanish top flight in 2019-20.
Possible XI: Ter Stegen; Semedo, Umtiti, Lenglet, Alba; De Jong, Busquets, Arthur; Messi, Griezmann, Ansu,
