The players have the quality to shine at Barca

Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta has been talking about new boys Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann and has urged patience.

The club invested heavily to bring in the duo in 2019 but neither have yet had quite the impact expected at their new club.

Griezmann has already been linked with an exit, with Barca keen on Lautaro Martinez and Neymar, but Iniesta thinks they both have the quality to shine at the Camp Nou.

“De Jong has just arrived, he needs that adaptation period,” he said.

“[Griezmann] is a case similar to that of De Jong. Griezmann and the rest of the new players that arrive every year need time. They have enormous talent and will definitely end up triumphing and making a place for themselves in this team where it is not easy to play.”

Iniesta also spoke about the possibility of moving into a coaching career in the future. The 35-year-old said he’d spoken to Xavi about coaching and his former team-mate had advised him ”to test it out and see if I like it.”
