Oriol Busquets keen to prove himself in Barca pre-season

The midfielder is keen to earn a first-team spot

Oriol Busquets says he wants to come back to Barcelona and prove in pre-season he deserves a place in the first-team squad.

The 21-year-old has spent the 2019-02 campaign on loan in the Eredivisie with FC Twente but is due to return to the Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Busquets says he’s already thinking about playing for the first team next season.

“My dream is to return to Barça and do preseason with the first team. Or whatever I have to do and demonstrate that I can go back. My desire is to stay with the first team.”

The youngster has played in defence and midfield for FC Twente this season and added that he doesn’t mind where he plays when it comes to Barca.

Busquets has enjoyed regular football in the Netherlands, featuring in 21 of FC Twente’s 26 league games before the season was halted in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
