Papers: Ter Stegen to renew, untouchable De Jong & Semedo in demand
A look at the top headlines in Spain
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is making headlines again on Friday with a report in Sport that the Germany international is ready to renew his contract at the club until 2025.
Contract talks with Barcelona had stalled, but he is now reportedly ready to sign a deal keeping him with the Catalan giants until 2025. The club are hoping to get the extension signed, sealed and delivered in June.
Over at Mundo Deportivo there is a fresh update on Nelson Semedo’s future. The right-back is pictured on the front page with the headline ‘Semedo, Most Wanted.’
MD report a host of Europe’s top clubs are keen on the Portugal international. Juventus and Inter Milan are mentioned as well as Bayern Munich, PSG and Manchester City.
The report reckons that Semedo will either renew or leave the club. Barca can’t afford the wages he’s asking for and also need to raise funds so it’s looking increasingly likely this season will be his last at Barca.
And finally Catalan daily L’Esportiu have Frenkie de Jong on their front cover with the headline ‘Untouchable’.
The newspaper reports he is one of just three untouchables in the Barca squad, but the club want more from him because his style of play fits the club’s identity perfectly.
