The midfielder is not against making a ‘big change’

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic says he would have liked someone at the club to have come out and put an end to rumors he will leave the club in the summer.

The Croatia international’s future has been the subject of speculation for some time with the 32-year-old expected to depart the Camp Nou in the coming months.

Rakitic said he is not against making a “big change” and also spoke about the possibility of Lautaro Martinez arriving at the club from Inter Milan.

“I would have liked that at some point someone from the club had come out to say that Rakitic was staying to end the rumours. Bartomeu has not told me anything. Perhaps today he is listening to us and tomorrow he is going to call me.

“If (Inter striker) Lautaro Martinez arrives, I would be delighted but that is not to do with me. I have never closed the doors to making a big change (in my career). My family’s future? We will go to live in Seville sooner or later, almost certainly.”

The midfielder does seem keen on a return to Sevilla, but it’s not clear if the Andalusian side would be afford such a move. Sporting director Monchi has been asked about the rumors but has said there is “absolutely nothing” at the moment.
