Barcelona concerned Ter Stegen needs surgery- report
Some worrying news about the goalkeeper
Barcelona are reportedly worried about Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s knee and think he may need to have surgery to fix the problem.
The German goalkeeper has had an issue with the “patellar tendon of his right leg” for a while but it’s simply not going away, according to AS.
Barca’s No.1 underwent treatment earlier this year but is still having problems and it could be that he undergoes surgery as soon as the club’s involvement in the Champions League finishes.
However, the report reckons that if he does go under the knife he’s likely to be out of action for “three to four months” which would see him miss a significant chunk of next season.
Neto is Ter Stegen’s current backup but has barely played this season and there have been rumors he’ll be sold with Inaki Pena promoted to the first team.
Losing Ter Stegen for what sounds like most of the rest of the year would be a massive blow to Barca, let’s hope the injury is not as bad as the report suggests.
