Braithwaite not in Barcelona’s plans for next season
The forward will be sold or loaned
Martin Braithwaite only arrived at Barcelona in February but it seems he’s already been deemed surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Denmark international is not part of Barcelona’s plans for next season and will be sold or loaned.
Barca have decided they simply don’t need Braithwaite as Ansu Fati will remain with the first team next season and the arrivals of Pedri and Trincao will further boost their options.
Braithwaite’s agent is said to be “on a mission” to find him a new club this summer. Barca would prefer to sell but will consider a loan with a purchase option.
The 29-year-old enjoyed a bright start to life at Barca but ends the season with one goal and a total of 403 minutes played for the Catalan giants.
Braithwaite increasingly struggled for minutes as the season progressed and does not seem to have done enough to impress Quique Setien.
