Griezmann ‘touch and go’ for Napoli clash
The Frenchman is on his way back from injury
Barcelona consider Antoine Griezmann to be “touch and go” for their Champions League last-16 second leg against Napoli on August 8.
The Frenchman has been out since suffering a quadriceps injury against Real Valladolid but has been back on the training ground this week.
According to Sport, Griezmann is still training on his own and it’s not clear yet if he will be fit for the match at the Camp Nou.
Griezmann hasn’t enjoyed a spectacular first season at Barcelona, but it’s his away goal that has given the Catalans the slight advantage ahead of the second leg.
There’s better news on Clement Lenglet. The centre-back “was able to do some ball work with his teammates” on Thursday and there’s optimism he will be able to partner Gerard Pique.
Lenglet’s return looks vital with Samuel Umtiti and Ronald Araujo out injured, while Barca B defender Jorge Cuenca has also now been ruled out with a thigh problem.
