The 17-year-old is a wanted man

Pedri has been talking about the future ahead of his move to Barcelona after finishing the season at Las Palmas.

The 17-year-old says he can’t wait to get going at the Camp Nou but has also admitted there is interest in his services from other clubs.

Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach have admitted they are keen, while there have been rumors of interest from Bayer Munich, and Pedri has offered an update.

“I want to get there and impress. I’ll do everything possible to stay here. If it was up to me, we’d start training tomorrow morning. My dream is to succeed at Barça and I want to say: ‘Here I am. I want to play for Barça - and not just during the preseason.’ I’ll work as hard as anyone else but remain grounded at the same time. I know I must be true to myself.

“The priority is to play. There have been some very interesting proposals from Bundesliga sides, who are insisting they want to take me (on loan). Barça know about this. Those clubs believe I could be an important part of their team and gain experience.”

There have been conflicting reports about Barcelona’s plans for Pedri and whether he will stay with the first team or head out on loan in order to continue his development. His comments make it pretty clear he wants to stay but he also wants to play.
