It’s not expected he’ll be sacked...yet

Quique Setien is reportedly set to meet club president Josep Maria Bartomeu to discuss La Liga and the Champions League.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Bartomeu wants to find out how Setien is feeling after seeing his team miss out on the title to Real Madrid.

The president also wants to talk about the upcoming Champions League campaign with Barca facing Napoli in their crucial last-16 second leg at Camp Nou on August 8.

MD reckon Setien “is not expected to be dismissed today” but also report that no-one is guaranteeing he will still be in charge for the visit of Napoli.

It’s clear Barca do need to make some sort of changes. Lionel Messi made it clear how frustrated he is with the club after Thursday’s defeat to Osasuna and called for change.

Setien also spoke after the game and said he was “convinced that we will be a different team” for Napoli and “will face the Champions League with a positive mindset.”
