Bayern rule themselves out of Messi sweepstakes
The European champions can’t afford the GOAT
Lionel Messi won’t be heading to the German giants this summer. Bayern Munich could be the last opponent Messi played against in a Barcelona kit. Today, they ruled themselves out of signing the Argentine if he is able to leave Barcelona this summer.
CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge commented on the possibility of Messi joining Bayern when asked if his club would entertain the possibility.
“No. We can’t pay a player of that size. It is not part of our policy and philosophy.
“Honestly, hearing that Messi could leave Barcelona makes me a little sad. Leo has written the history of that club and in my opinion he should end his career with the Blaugrana.
“There are internal and private aspects there that I don’t know about and that is why I will not interfere.”

Messi to Bayern doesn’t make any sense. They might be the only club in the world that would be mad to invest a large sum of money into Messi.
