The captain met with the new boss on Thursday

Lionel Messi reportedly interrupted his vacation to meet with new manager Ronald Koeman for talks about his Barcelona future.

According to RAC1, the Argentina international told the new boss that right now “he does not see his future at Barça clearly” and is leaning more towards leaving then staying.

The pair met at Messi’s home and the captain made it pretty clear how unhappy he was with the club after the 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Yet Messi is also aware it won’t be easy to leave the club now. He is still under contract until 2021 and has a release clause set at an eye-watering €700 million.

Koeman said at his unveiling yesterday that he wants to keep Messi at the club, but he also said he only “wants to work with players who want to be here.”

It seems that Messi still hasn’t quite made his mind up about his future and will need convincing it’s worth staying at the Camp Nou.
