And Jürgen Klopp wants him, too.-

Despite rumors of a possible exit, Georginio Wijnaldum “wants to stay at Liverpool,” according to Sky Sports. It’s been strongly suggested in the media that Ronald Koeman wants his former Netherlands national team pupil to join him at Barcelona. But the transfer may not happen, especially as Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp reportedly wants him to remain in Merseyside, as well.

Wijnaldum has one year left on his current deal, so it is possible that a club could find him at a relatively cheap price this transfer window. However, Sky Sports says he actually wants to stay at Liverpool and extend his contract.

Reports of “positive talks” between the Liverpool manager and his midfielder would suggest that Wijnaldum will stay in England. That would, perhaps, push Barcelona towards making a move for Thiago, who is ready to leave Bayern Munich. The former Barcelona midfielder was linked with a move to Liverpool, but if Wijnaldum doesn’t leave, that would only bolster his chances of going back to the Camp Nou.

Thiago has been rumored to be a possibility for Barcelona, but it was said that Koeman preferred his compatriot as far as midfield signings go.
