Delighted to make his full debut but not happy with the result

Pedri made his full debut for Barcelona on Saturday and put in a pretty impressive performance in the defeat to Getafe.

The 17-year-old was surprisingly named in Ronald Koeman’s starting XI and certainly didn’t look out of place, indeed he was arguably the team’s brightest performer in the first half.

Pedri was replaced by Philippe Coutinho on the hour, as Koeman made changes after his team fell behind, and spoke afterwards about his first La Liga start.

“It was a dream come true to make my start with Barça and debut in La Liga but I am not happy today because he team has lost. We have a really good team and we will try to do our best in the next game.”

Koeman clearly has a lot of faith in the teenager who has now featured in all four of Barcelona’s La Liga games so far. Barca paid just €5m to bring him in from Las Palmas and he already looks a real bargain.
