Good stuff from the boss

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick paid Marc Bernal a visit in hospital after he underwent surgery on his torn ACL and had a special gift for the young midfielder.

Bernal was injured against Rayo Vallecano after making a great start to the season under Flick and has now been ruled out for 12 months.

According to Catalunya Radio, Flick was feeling bad about the injury, particularly because it happened so late in the game.

He went to visit Bernal in hospital and took along a self-help book. The book focuses on overcoming setbacks such as the one suffered by the youngster.

FlIck also wrote a personal message to encourage Bernal in what will be a long recovery process.

The German highlighted that he remains an important player for Barcelona, despite the fact he’s facing a long lay off, and made it clear he still has his whole future ahead of him as he’s only 17.

Manager and player also had a good chat at what was surely a really difficult time for the youngster due to the severity of the injury.

It’s a nice anecdote about Barca’s new manager who has already been receiving plenty of praise from his young players in particular since taking over.
