Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has been ruled out of Poland’s upcoming Nations League fixtures with a back injury.

The national team confirmed on Monday that Lewandowski will not meet up with the squad for games against Portugal and Scotland and will remain in Barcelona instead.

A statement from the Poland team read:

“The Polish Football Association has announced that Robert Lewandowski will not take part in the November training camp of the Polish national team, preparing for the UEFA Nations League matches against Portugal and Scotland.

“The reason for the absence of the captain of the national team is a back injury he suffered in the league match against Real Sociedad, ruling him out of action for about ten days.”

Lewandowski was seen holding his back and walking gingerly after the match against Real Sociedad and will now undergo treatment at Barcelona.

Hansi Flick’s side will be hoping that Lewandowski is fit to return after the international break. The striker has been in top form this season and has 14 goals in 13 La Liga games so far.
