So this happened....

Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font was interviewed this week amidst his campaign to be the next head of the club. Font is one of the favorites to take the job and hasn’t been afraid to answer interesting or tough questions.

This time around he was asked about Sergio Ramos and whether or not they would sign the Real Madrid captain.

“If Xavi asked me to sign Sergio Ramos, I would sign him if it was economically feasible.”

He was then asked about Lionel Messi. The biggest job of the new president will be to try and convince Messi to stay at the club and sign a new contract.

“Messi is disappointed. The club had promised him the freedom to leave whenever he liked, but they didn’t live up to their promise. Now, we must convince Leo with our project and show him that we can win the CL.

“We have spoken with Messi’s environment and the people close to him, but we haven’t spoken with Leo himself. Xavi is the best person to speak with Leo and prove to him that we have a project.”
