The teenager forward has ‘got everything’

Former Barcelona defender Marc Bartra has been talking about Ansu Fati and thinks the teenager can go on and “mark an era” at the Camp Nou.

The youngster has broken all sorts of records for club and country since making his debut for Barcelona as a substitute against Real Betis back in August 2019.

Fati had also started the 2020-21 season brightly with five goals and two assists but has since been ruled out for four months after undergoing knee surgery.

LaLiga Santander player Bartra, speaking at an event for LiveScore, was asked for his thoughts on which young player in Spain’s top flight would make it to the top and opted for Fati.

“There are many. Of the very young ones, I’d say Ansu Fati. He’s 18 years old and I see a lot of potential, because he’s got everything. I’ve followed him since he was very young and as a player he is fast, skilful, can take on players, is a good finisher (which is perhaps the most important thing). I think he will mark an era in LaLiga (if he stays playing here) and on the world stage.”

Bartra was also asked to name the best player he’s ever played with, and his answer will not come as too much of a surprise.

“The best player I’ve played with as a teammate has been Leo Messi, no doubt. There’s been no one better than him, neither now or in the past. For me he’s the best in history because he’s so complete.”

Barcelona ran out 5-2 winners against Bartra’s Real Betis side before La Liga was put on hold for the international break. Both teams resume their league campaigns with tricky tests at the weekend.

Ronald Koeman takes his team to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium to face Atletico Madrid, while Bartra’s Betis are in action on Monday when they face a trip to Athletic Bilbao.
