The teenager will go under the knife on Monday

Ansu Fati will undergo surgery on Monday after picking up a knee injury in Barcelona’s win over Real Betis on Saturday.

The 18-year-old went off at half-time and the club confirmed after the match he had suffered “an internal meniscus tear in his left knee.”

Fati will know be operated on tomorrow in order to fix the problem, and we should get an idea of his recovery time after the surgery.

Here’s Barca’s statement:

“The first team player Ansu Fati will undergo surgery tomorrow for the injury to the meniscus in his left knee. The procedure will be performed by Dr. Ramon Cugat under the supervision of the club’s medical services. Once this intervention is completed, a new communique will be provided with information on the result and the approximate time the player will be out.”

Current speculation suggests the operation could mean the 18-year-old is out for around 3-4 months. Let’s hope he recovers quickly and we can see him back out on the pitch soon.
