The midfielder is determined his chance will come

Riqui Puig has only managed three minutes of game time this season for Barcelona but reportedly remains completely uninterested in leaving the club in the January transfer window.

According to Sport, the 21-year-old has no plans to leave because he has “complete faith in his ability and is convinced his chance will come” under Ronald Koeman.

The same newspaper reported on Monday that both Puig and Carles Alena are on the “exit ramp” as Barcelona want to send the pair on loan to secure some playing time.

Yet Puig doesn’t seem to be having any of that and seems willing to stick it out for now in the hope that his situation changes soon.

It’s a brave decision but it remains to be see if it’s the right one. As much as we’d all love to see Puig playing it’s difficult to see him featuring regularly this season under Koeman.
