Ilaix and Konrad also took part in the session

Barcelona were back in training on Wednesday to prepare for their Copa del Rey clash with Cornella on Thursday and the main talking point was the appearance of Alex Collado.

The 21-year-old, who scored the winner for Barcelona B against Cornella back in December, was called up and will be hoping for some minutes tomorrow night.

Collado’s call-up is a deserved reward for some impressive performances for Barca B since returning from injury at the end of last year.

The Barca B captain was not the only youngster in the session. Ilaix Moriba was once again with the first team, while Konrad de la Fuente and Arnau Tenas also took part.

Ronald Koeman is expected to rotate his squad for the match which should mean opportunities for some of the club’s fringe players and young stars.

Ilaix has been training with the first team for a little while now and was also part of the Super Cup squad. The midfielder turned 18 yesterday and could be set to make his debut.

Meanwhile, Konrad has already featured for the senior side this season, making two Champions League appearances as a substitute, and provides another option out wide.

It’s also worth noting that Sergino Dest, who was forced off with injury against Athletic at half-time, did not train with the group and looks set to miss out through injury.

Koeman will hold his pre-match press conference later today and may offer some clues as to which players can expect some game time tomorrow.
