Herrera on how PSG can beat Barca in the UCL
Interesting stuff from the midfielder
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera has been looking ahead to next week’s Champions League tie against Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
The two teams meet for the first leg of their last 16 tie on Tuesday, and Herrera was asked what he thinks the keys to the big match will be.
“That Messi is not comfortable. Controlling De Jong’s arrivals. I don’t know if they will have Araújo, but he is a true sprinter. That could mark the tie.”
The former Manchester United midfielder also spoke about the possibility of Messi moving to PSG but, unlike most of his team-mates, didn’t want to talk about the subject too much.
“Play with Messi, Neymar and Mbappé together? I don’t know how Financial Fair Play works, but I don’t think so. In football I’ve seen it all.
“My teammates’ statements about Messi? It’s not a strategy. I respect it, but if I were in Barcelona it wouldn’t be funny. I don’t think it’s disrespectful but I’m not going to do it.
“Messi is the best player I’ve ever seen and the best I’ve ever faced. It’s a truth like a temple.”

Herrera was also asked which team he thinks have the edge and answered: “I don’t think we are favourites to win against Barcelona. They have Messi, so I’d say it’s 50/50.”
