Pedri expected to miss two weeks with injury
The midfielder is sidelined
Barcelona confirmed on Sunday that Pedri is out of action and will miss the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Sevilla on Wednesday.
The midfielder, who has featured in all of Barca’s La Liga matches so far this season, has a muscle injury and is out of action for the time being.

Early reports suggest that Pedri will miss two weeks with the injury. If that proves correct then Pedri will also miss the trip to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League as well.
Pedri has taken to social media with a post that suggests the injury is not serious. He wrote, “Very happy for the results of the tests, for the game of the whole team and the very important victory yesterday. From now super motivated and working to return in a short time with my team-mates.”
The news is still a blow given how integral Pedri has been this season. He’s featured 37 times in what is his first season with the club since moving from Las Palmas.
Pedri’s injury does open up a spot in the starting XI for the next few games, and it’ll be interesting to see how Ronald Koeman replaces the teenager.
Ilaix Moriba and Riqui Puig seem the most likely contenders to take Pedri’s place and will certainly be hoping to get another chance to stake a claim for more regular football.
