Ter Stegen sends Barca message ahead of Sevilla tie
The goalkeeper has some words of advice
Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has a message for his team-mates ahead of Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Sevilla.
The Catalan giants head into the match 2-0 down after the first leg but with hope they can pull off a comeback having beaten Sevilla by the same scoreline in La Liga on Saturday.
Ter Stegen wants a similar performance from his team on Wednesday as Ronald Koeman’s side bid to make it to the final of the competition.
Ter Stegen suffered an injury scare in the warm-up before Saturday’s match. The goalkeeper appeared to injure his finger and went back into the dressing room for treatment.
Fortunately for Barcelona he was able to continue and had a pretty quiet game, keeping a clean sheet for the second match in a row.
Another clean sheet looks like being needed again on Wednesday if Barca are to progress. The task is already tough but if Sevilla were to add a third goal it would leave Koeman’s men with a real mountain to climb.
