The duo trained on Sunday

Barcelona defenders Gerard Pique and Ronald Araujo are both trying to prove their fitness ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain.

The Catalans would love to have both players available but that looks doubtful with Pique having been out since November and Araujo having suffered a sprained ankle last weekend.

According to Catalunya Radio, the duo both trained with the group on Sunday and so are not out of the running to play on Tuesday yet.

Barca will train again on Monday where both players will be tested again to see if they can feature against PSG. Koeman will also speak to the press before the game and may offer some clues as to whether they will be ready in time.

The Catalans’ defense has looked vulnerable all season and faces a stiff test against Kylian Mbappe and Co. Koeman would surely love to have Pique and/or Araujo available, but if not he’ll have to choose from Clement Lenglet, Samuel Umtiti, Oscar Mingueza and maybe even Frenkie de Jong.
