Pjanic still doesn’t know why he’s struggling for game time
The midfielder remains on the fringes
Miralem Pjanic still seems unsure as to why he’s struggling for game time this season at Barcelona after a summer switch from Juventus.
The midfielder has only made five La Liga starts for the Catalan giants in 2020-21 with the majority of his appearances coming off the bench.
Pjanic spoke out about his lack of game time earlier this season and still doesn’t seem too happy with his role at the Camp Nou.
“The exact reasons why I’ve not had the playing time expected, I don’t have them.
“I keep working and you have to respect the decisions that are taken, even if you don’t agree. I want to leave my mark at this club.”
Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong, and Pedri have emerged as Ronald Koeman’s preferred midfield trio this season, and all three players are expected to start again on Tuesday against Paris Saint-Germain.
It’s a match Pjanic is likely to be on the bench for again for Barcelona, and he offered his thoughts on the tie ahead of the game.
“It’s a last 16 match and it won’t be easy for either team. For us, the fans and the club, it is very important to beat PSG. What PSG really want is the Champions League as for them winning Ligue 1 is almost an obligation.”

Pjanic has actually seen plenty of game time in the Champions League this season. He started all six group games, but it would be a real surprise if he continued that run against PSG.
