A final against either Chelsea or Bayern Munich awaits

Barcelona Femeni beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Sunday to secure a 3-2 aggregate win in their Champions League semi-final.

The victory means Lluis Cortes’s team is into the final for a second time in three years and will be hoping to lift the trophy for the first time.

Lieke Martens opened the scoring after just eight minutes with a brilliant solo goal to put the hosts in front.

Barca doubled their lead on the half-hour mark when Martens converted Caroline Graham Hansen’s cross at the far post to secure her second of the match.

PSG hit back quickly through Marie-Antoinette Katoto to pull one back and give the visitors hope of a comeback before half-time.

The second half saw plenty of chances for both sides, and Barca should have wrapped things up when Alexia Putellas won a penalty. Martens stepped up but was denied a hat-trick by goalkeeper Christiane Endler.

Marta Torrejón also hit the crossbar for Barca in the second half, while PSG had chances but could not find a way past Sandra Paños in the hosts’ goal as the Catalans held on for victory.

Barca go on to play either Chelsea or Bayern Munich in the final of the competition on May 16.
