The two men spoke on Thursday

Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman and Joan Laporta met up on Thursday in a restaurant for talks, according to multiple reports.

The meeting apparently lasted a couple of hours and came amid speculation over Koeman’s future at the Camp Nou. Barcelona vice president, Rafa Yuste, was also at the meeting.

The Dutchman is almost halfway through his two-year deal but doubts have surfaced after some poor results which have all but ended Barca’s title hopes.

Laporta gave little away when asked about his meeting with Koeman which he described as “a normal meeting between a coach and a president.” Koeman said even less and offered only that the talks went “Very well. Good atmosphere.”

Barca aren’t expected to make a decision on Koeman until the end of the season. The Catalan giants finish the campaign with games against Celta Vigo and Eibar.

It’s not certain if Koeman will continue or even who might take over if he does leave. The only certainty seems to be that speculation over the Barca coach’s future will dominate the headlines in the coming weeks.
