Mina says he he’ll have a plan to handle Harry Kane

Colombia play England on Tuesday

Colombia defender Yerry Mina says he has a plan to handle England as his side face the Three Lions in the World Cup last 16 on Tuesday.

The winner will play either Sweden or Switzerland in the quarter-finals with the bottom half of the draw wide open.

The game will see Mina come up against the tournament’s top scorer in Harry Kane and, he says he knows how to handle the Tottenham man.

“There is a reason that Harry Kane is the top scorer so far at the tournament - because he is one of the best strikers in the world,” he said.

“We know all about his qualities. I have a very strong partnership with Davinson Sanchez and Kane will not have an easy time against us.

“We are going to not make it an easy game for him.

“I think it does help that Davinson plays with him at Spurs. He has been training with him everyday for the last year - and that is going to give him extra knowledge about his qualities and the way he plays.

“I will be talking a lot with him between now and the game - and we will have a plan.”

Mina has enjoyed a pretty good World Cup so far and has scored in his last two games. He’ll be hoping Colombia can continue their adventure in Russia and make it into the last eight.
