Konrad de la Fuente opens up on life at Barcelona
The youngster talks game time
Konrad de la Fuente has been talking about life at Barcelona and doesn’t seem too worried about his lack of first-team game time this season.
The 19-year-old had only managed a couple of substitute appearances so far in 2020-21 but says he’s happy to play regularly with Barca B.
“It was the club’s decision, they thought it was best for my progression for me to play regularly every week with the ‘B’ team, but train with the first team every day,” he said.
“And I think it was the correct decision because I feel a lot better right now.”
Konrad’s been in great form for Barca B recently, scoring four in his last five games, to help Garcia Pimienta’s side secure a place in the promotion play-offs to the Segunda División A.
The teenager has explained how playing regularly has helped bring out his best form.
“It’s not really easy to be in this position, you know, because as a soccer player you want to be playing,” he said.
“So at the beginning of the season I wasn’t playing much with either team because I would travel with the first team and then I would miss a “B” team game and, like, two weeks later I’d play with the “B” team (again).
“So it was pretty difficult to get me into a rhythm of games and minutes. But now I’ve been playing regularly for a good 10, 11 weeks and I feel really good.”

There’s been speculation recently that Konrad could depart in the summer. The forward has a contract until 2022 but it’s been reported Barca could sell if a good offer arrives.
