Guillem Jaime returns to Barcelona B

The right-back has come home

Barcelona confirmed on Tuesday the club has brought right-back Guillem Jaime back to the Camp Nou after a spell with Castellon.

Jaime joined Barcelona at the age of seven and progressed through La Masia, winning the UEFA Youth League with the U19s as captain and playing for Barca B in 2018-19.

He also played for the first team in 2019 against Chelsea and Vissel Kobe on the club’s preseason tour of Japan.

The right-back left In June 2020 after his contract expired but is now back home for another spell with Barca.

Here’s the club’s official statement:

FC Barcelona have signed Guillem Jaime for Barça B. The 22 year old Catalan defender returns to the club after a year away to reinforce the squad at right back.

“The player arrives on a free transfer and signs a one year deal until 30 June 2022.

£Jaime has completed his medical and been out on to the pitch at the Estadi Johan Cruyff as a Barça player and all that remain is the signing of the contract with president Joan Laporta.”

Jaime will be hoping he can force his way into Sergi Barjuán’s plans for the new season and has made it clear he’s happy to be back. He told Barca TV, ”I am happy to go home, which is where I have always wanted to be.”
