WATCH: Braithwaite shows off his ‘Goal of the Year’
The Dane has poked fun at himself
Martin Braithwaite may not be the most gifted striker ever to play for Barcelona, but the 30-year-old has proved to be a thoroughly decent and likeable person during his time at the Camp Nou.
The Dane now looks set to start the season with Barcelona, despite rumors the Catalans are keen to sell, and has been busy poking fun at himself ahead of the new campaign.
Braithwaite has taken to social media and told fans to “check out the goal of the year.” What follows is a video of his rather fortuitous goal against Stuttgart in pre-season.
The goal arrives after Sergino Dest has flung in a cross from the right, the ball smashes off a Stuttgart defender, hits Braithwaite and flies past the goalkeeper. “Next level shit” is Braithwaite’s comment on the video.
It’s worth pointing out that Braithwaite also scored in the win over Juventus in the Joan Gamper Trophy. And this one he definitely meant.
