The youngster is being tipped to extend his contract soon

Ansu Fati has reportedly told Barcelona his “absolute priority” is to stay at the Camp Nou as he is only interested in succeeding at the Camp Nou.

There have been whispers of interest in Fati in recent transfer windows and even claims that Barca were willing to sell their young star for €100 million.

President Joan Laporta slammed those rumors in his recent interview with Onze but speculation then emerged that Man City had been offered Fati by his agent Jorge Mendes.

The latest update on Fati’s future comes from Cadena SER who reckon Fati sat down with his father and Mendes for a chat and made it clear his desire is to stay.

Fati’s current contract expires in 2022 and Mendes is said to be studying Barca’s renewal offer. It sounds like Barca will renew Fati downwards initially but that the salary will then improve over the next few years.

The Fati family are said to fully agree with the new deal, as they are well aware of the club’s financial mess, and are willing to adapt his contract accordingly.

The report adds that Mendes and Alemany have not yet met for official negotiations but it sounds like a new contract for Fati is a priority and will hopefully be agreed soon.
